Udupi: Exam worries: 17-year-old boy at Brahmavar shoots himself to death

Udupi, Nov 7: A 17-year-old boy allegedly shot himself at Karje, Brahmavar here on Thursday November 7.
The deceased has been identified as Shreyas Shetty, son of Suresh Shetty, former president of Karje gram panchayat and agriculturist.
It is said that Shreyas was worried about failing in exams, and that he had even left home twice before.
On Thursday, he told his mother that he had spotted a monkey in their plantation located close by, and left home armed with a licensed gun saying that he would shoot the monkey.
However, even after several hours he did not return home. The mother who grew franctic alerted the neighbours and a search began.
Shreyas was found dead in the plantation, with a bullet injury on his chest.
Shreyas was first year PU student of Vidyodaya Public School. He was the youngest among three children of Suresh Shetty and Vimala. It is said that he had a licensed gun to scare away animals in his plantation.
Brahmavar police have registered a case.
