India to organise international printing exhibition

New Delhi, Nov 5 (IANS): In a bid to expand the Indian printing industry, the ninth edition of the international exhibition on printing and allied machinery industries (PAMEX 2013) will be held Nov 14-17 at Greater Noida near here.

“This international exhibition shall provide a platform for the exhibitors to do business and interact with technology providers and buyers," said A.M.S.G. Ashokan, president of the All India Federation of Master Printers.

According to the organisers, the event, which is being supported by various central government ministries, is expected to host about 258 exhibitors from 22 countries with approximately 26,000 visitors.

The country's printing industry, which was valued at $12.1 billion in 2011, is expected to expand to about $20.9 billion by the full calender year 2013.

With the exponential growth the organisers expect India to become the largest printing market by 2015 aided by low-cost production and ready-to-adopt new technology.

The event is also being supported by the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) and the Federation of Indian Publishers. It is the only dedicated international exhibition for the industry organised in Asia.
