Mangalore: Lightning strike injures two Air India Express workers at Airport

Mangalore, Nov 3: Two persons were injured in a lightning strike at Mangalore International Airport here on Saturday November 2, sources said.
The injured persons have been identified as Yogish and Raghavendra, who work for Air India Express as loaders.
The lightning struck them while they were loading the luggage into the Air India Express Goa flight, it is learnt. They were soon shifted to a hospital in the city with injuries on their legs and back, sources said.
Lightning accompanied by strong winds and light rain took the citizens by surprise on Saturday evening. The strong winds also caused damage at Kankanady market, where the corrugated roof of a cracker stall was blown off, injuring two girls and leading to heated exchange of words between the locals and stall keepers.
