Mangalore: Talents galore as MMCA 'Kala Sangam' kicks off

Mangalore, Nov 2: Students from various schools and colleges on Saturday November 2 converged at 'Kala Sangam-2013', a cultural competition organized by Mangalore Musical and Cultural Association (MMCA) at Gitanjali, Lower Bendoor here.
Corporator of Shivabagh Sabitha Misquith along with poet Melvyn Rodrigues inaugurated the programme.
After the inauguration the chief guests were introduced and felicitated. They were also presented the “Kala Poshaka” certificates as a token of appreciation.
Kala Sangam-2013 is a 24-day musical and cultural event with a host of competitions starting from November 2. The event will conclude with a grand finale on November 25.
MMCA's Kala Sangam is an annual celebration with variety of competitions such as Chitranjali – drawing; Hastanjali – handwriting; Kalaanjali - singing, dance and drama; Vesha Bhooshanjali - fancy dress; Varnajali - mehendi; Jananagali – quiz; Vachananjali – elocution, Pushpangali – flower arrangement; Likhangali – essay writing and many more.
