Bhubaneswar, Oct 31 (IANS): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh may visit Odisha Nov 2, official sources here said Thursday.
Although the state government is yet to receive details of his visit, the prime minister is likely to make an aerial survey of the areas affected by Cyclone Phailin and the subsequent floods, a senior official of the state home department told IANS.
"We have received preliminary information. We are waiting for further details," he said.
Chief minister Naveen Patnaik has asked his council of ministers and top state officials to stay in the capital Saturday.
The chief minister also asked the revenue department and office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) to prepare a detailed report on the damages caused by the cyclone and the subsequent floods for appraising the prime minister.
The prime minister is expected to return to New Delhi the same day, the official said.
