Patna, Oct 27 (IANS): A bomb exploded on a platform of the Patna railway station Sunday morning killing one and injuring another, and two live bombs were recovered, police said.
The bomb exploded on the recently-constructed platform number 10 at the Patna junction around 10.30 a.m. ahead of the Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's "hunkar" rally here, police said.
"A man succumbed to his injuries," a police officer said.
Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manu Maharaj said a team from Patna police bomb squad also recovered two live bombs, and the injured have been admitted to the Patna Medical College and Hospital.
The police official said that security has been further tightened.
After the incident, police have appealed to people, particularly those who have gathered here for the rally, not to touch any suspected articles and inform police about it immediately.
Meanwhile, Modi has arrived here amid tight security to address the rally at Gandhi Maidan here.
Reports said that three consecutive blasts took place in and around Gandhi Maidan. But police have not confirmed this yet.
However, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders at the rally told their supporters and party workers that these were not blasts but fire-crackers burst by some enthusiastic activists.
