Oktoberfest Goa starts on an enthusiastic note

Panaji, Oct 26 (IANS): Beer and music festival Oktoberfest Goa 2013 got off to an enthusiastic start with big names like disc jockeys (DJ) Marco V and Clement making the audience groove to their beats.

As DJ Clement played fast-pace electronic dance music on the first day of the festival Friday, international DJ Marco V made the evening more energetic as he took to the stage and played tracks like "We are together" and "Welcome to the jungle".

Dressed in neon coloured t-shirts and dresses with cowboy hats, the audience from across the globe were spotted trying several dance forms like hip-hop, robotic and bhangra.

"The response was pretty good on the first day. The audience was very enthusiastic. Despite the rain, the crowd was going crazy. We have a great line-up of DJs so we are hoping it will pull more crowd on days two and three," festival director Himanshu Anand told IANS.

The three-day festival, held at Nazri Ground in Baga, will end Sunday.
