Bantwal, Oct 26: The inauguration of new facilities and mega health checkup camp, organized by the Father Muller Medical Institutions in association with Lions and Lioness Club Bantwal, at Father Muller Hospital, Thumbay, here, was held on Saturday October 26.
B Ramanath Rai, district in-charge minister and minister for forest, ecology and environment inaugurated the CT scanner, X-ray and the lab auto analysis. All the new equipments were blessed by Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, bishop, Mangalore Diocese.
A formal stage function was held on the occasion. All the dignitaries on the dais lit the auspicious lamp and inaugurated the mega health check up camp.
B Ramanath Rai was the chief guest for the occasion. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza presided over the programme. B Ahmed Hajee Mohiuddeen, founder and chairman, B A Group Thumbay was the guest of honour. S J Acharya, president of Lions club Bantwal, Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director FMCI, Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, administrator FMMC, Dr J P Alva, dean FMMC and Fr Richard Coelho, administrator FMMCH were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, B Ramanath Rai said that Father Muller Medical Charitable Institutions is an institution which has been serving the people since many years. All the health facilities which are introduced here is a great contribution to the health sector. I congratulate FMCI and Lions Club for organizing the health camp and taking an initiative in contributing towards having a healthier society.”
In his presidential address, Bishop said, “CT scanner, X-ray and lab auto analyzer have been inaugurated today. Through these facilities Father Mullers has given a great gift to the society. All these facilities are introduced to provide best facilities to the people.”
“Just like good education is required, in the same way good health care facilities is also required. Thumbay being a rural area should also have all the advanced facilities. Only intention behind this is to serve and to cater to the needs of the people,” he added.
B Hajee Mohuideen and S J Acharya also spoke on the occasion. He requested the people to make good use of the camp and the facilities given to them by Father Muller Institutions.
On the occasion, a workshop on environmental issue was also organized for the public and students.
