Mangalore, Oct 23: “The Hindu Jagrana Vedike has also earlier demanded for strict investigation in the brutal murder and rape case of Sowjanya which took place a year ago. Even after the case was handed over to COD, there was no development in the case. Their investigation was similar to that of the local police. Hence we Hindu Jagrana Vedike demand the government to hand over the case to CBI,” said Satyajith Suratkal, state convener of HJV.
He was addressing media persons on Wednesday October 23.
“It is suspected that influential persons are involved in the COD investigation; hence it would be apt to handover the case to CBI, so that people’s doubts are cleared. The investigation should be conducted by the CBI under the guidance of high court or Supreme Court,” he demanded.
“With regard to this case, anti-Hindu organizations are trying to defame Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala. Until the investigation is completed, allegations must not be made,” he warned them and said that if this continues then HJV will fight in support of the Kshetra.
Adding to this he also said that during investigation, no accused person should be left scot free.
HJV leaders Vasudev Gowda, Raviraj B C Road, Kishore Kumar among others were present.
