Panjim, Mar 21: The Goa police achieved a major breakthrough in Fr Eusebio Ferrao (60) murder case by arresting 2 assailants at Nagpur in Maharashtra on Tuesday March 21 morning.
The arrested have been identified as Amit Shukla and Manish Dube, hailing from Uttar Pradesh. The police sources said that they will be brought to Goa by this evening.
As reported earlier, Fr Eusebio Ferrao of St Francis Church in Macasana in South Goa was found murdered in the early hours of the morning on Saturday, March 18, in the presbytery of the church.
With the arrest of two persons of Uttar Pradesh origin, the apprehensions expressed earlier that Fr Ferrao might have been murdered by three friends of North India have come true. It was known that these 3 friends had a dinner with Fr Eusebio on Friday March 17 night but were missing from the place on Saturday morning when Fr Eusebio was found murdered.
