For the fourth successive year, Vishwakarma Seva Balaga organized Shree Vishwakarma Puja Mahotsava, on Friday October 18, at Karnataka Social Club Hall in Manama, here.

The morning session started with Kalashaprathishta at 10 am by renowned astrologer, vastu expert and gemstone specialist Ashok Purohith, flown in from Mumbai; ably assisted by Ravindra Acharya from Saudi Arabia. Shridhar Achar couple couple took part in the Puja rituals.

By lighting the Mandaladeepam, the ladies wing of Balaga recited Shree Vishwakarma Stotra, Shree Kalikamba Stotra and Shree Lalithasahasranamaavali. Thereafter, devotional songs-bhajans programme kicked off by K B Jagdish Achar and Rajesh Kodethur with Pradeep Karkala on tabla and Binu Madhavan on harmonium; went on non-stop for couple of hours.

A flower decked special sanctum of Lord Vishwakarma, aesthetically decorated by Ashok Purohith was a treat to watch during Mahapuja Managalarathi and had taken the devotees to a divine world. After distribution of Prasadam, sumptuous food Annasantharpane, sponsored by Shridhar Achar couple, was served.

The afternoon session of entertainment began at 3.30 pm with prayer song presented by budding singer Divya Damodar. A prayer dance by upcoming dancer Sandhya Damodar stole the show. A Hindi fusion dance by Sandhya, Divya Damodar and Sakshar justified their talent; the dance being choreographed by Vidushi Aastika Sunil Shetty. The ladies wing consisting of Savitha Natesh, Reshma Sathish, Preethi Sharath, Mohini Sadashiv and Vani Manjunath presented Pooja Nritya, well received by the audience.

The programme continued with individual performances of songs in Kannada and Hindi by upcoming talents of our Balaga viz Pradeep Karkala, Satish Ullal, Shri Rajesh Kodethur, Divya Damodar and Vani Manjunath.  Hindi film dance “Nanna re..nanna re” by Ananya Rajesh and Sakshi Sharath was appreciated by all. A Tulu skit enacted by Bhaskar Acharya, Praveen Shetty and Chethana Hegde gave a laughing tonic to the lovely audience.  Rohan Satish, Ronit Satish, Shreyas Sadashiv, Ananya Rajesh and Sakshi Sharath danced to the tune of Hindi remix song. A Hindi dance number was beautifully presented by Srinidhi and Shreya Sridhar who are on their visit to Bahrain. Aditya Harish’s foot tapping ‘lungi dance’ was entertaining.

The entire day’s programme was organized and presented by the founder president K B Jagdish Achar. He thanked all who supported in organizing the programme.
