New Delhi, Mar 19: Criticizing the US for objecting to Russia's decision to supply uranium for the Tarapur Atomic Power Plants, CPI, an outside supporter of ruling UPA, on Saturday asked Government to tell Washington not to meddle in the matter.
Government should convey to US that it knows "what to do or what not not to do. (Interfering in it) is not not at all the business of US," CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta said during the Zero Hour in Lok Sabha.
Dasgupta said India should be free to negotiate any deal with Russia and this had nothing to do with the Indo-US nuclear agreement.
Observing that Government has reacted to Washington's comments on the Russian uranium supply, the CPI leader said India should make it fully known to US that it should not not cross its limits.
Dasgupta suggested that Government focus its attention on development of hydel power since electricity generated from nuclear power plants was more expensive.
