Guard tries to implicate Asaram, booked in Jammu

Jammu, O Oct 18 (IANS): Jammu and Kashmir Police Friday booked a security guard of Asaram Bapu's ashram here for conspiring to implicate the spiritual leader by claiming some children were buried in his ashram here after their killing.

Earlier, a criminal compliant was filed with a Jammu court that three children were murdered and buried inside Asaram Bapu's Bhagwati Nagar ashram in Jammu city, and Bhola Nath, the guard, was ready to identify the spot.

The court then directed the Jammu police to register a case and start investigations into the complaint.

In a dramatic turn of events Friday, police lodged an FIR (First Information Report) against Bhola Nath for a criminal conspiracy to implicate Asaram in a false case.

An officer told IANS that Bhola Nath had phoned a local youth identified as Vikrant Sharma to bury some human skeletons inside the ashram so that he could tell police and claim that three children were buried inside the ashram after their murder.

"Vikrant Sharma has produced before the court the CD of the phone conversation Bhola Nath had with him in this regard," the officer said.

"The conversation appears to be genuine and following court orders we have lodged an FIR of criminal conspiracy against Bhola Nath, a resident of Jaipur (Rajasthan). We have learnt that he is at present putting up in Mumbai," the officer said.

"A police team is being deputed to arrest Bhola Nath and bring him to Jammu for investigations", the police officer said.
