Kundapur, Oct 18: A man who went to wash his feet in a lake after grazing his cow, died after he slipped into the lake near Noojikere on Thursday October 17.
The deceased has been identified as Chandrashekar Ganiga (49), son of late Govinda Ganiga.
It is learnt that, Chandrashekar was employed in a hotel at Mumbai and had come home two days ago. On Thursday, he took the cow for grazing and as his clothes were dirty, he went to wash it in the lake. As soon as he reached near the pond, he slipped and fell into it resulting in his death.
Chandrashekar was the bread winner for his poor family. He is survived by his wife and two children.
A case has been registered at Kota police station.
