Moscow, Oct 15 (IANS/ITAR -TASS): The person behind the killing of Yegor Shcherbakov,a local resident of Moscow, last week that led to riots in the southern part of the Russian capital over the weekend has been identified.
“According to the findings, a person who is probably involved in the murder of the young man in Vostryakovsky bystreet last Thursday is Azerbaijani native Orkhan Zeinalov,” the press service of Moscow police told ITAR-TASS Tuesday.
“Search and investigative actions for the detention of the suspected killer are under way,” it added.
The killing of 25-year-old Shcherbakov led to riots last Sunday in Moscow's southern residential district of Zapadnoye Biryulevo.
Local people protested against what they called the inefficient preventive measures of the law enforcement agencies and the growth of crime rate among migrants.
Hundreds of people were arrested following the riots.
