Hanoi, Oct 15 (IANS): Typhoon Nari killed at least three people and injured 11 others after making a landfall in central Vietnam Tuesday, according to state-run Vietnam News Agency's report.
Three people were killed in Quang Nam province, while the injuries were reported in Da Nang City, reports Xinhua.
The typhoon brought heavy rain ranging from 80mm-150mm in the areas between Quang Tri and Quang Ngai.
The disaster caused power shortage on a large scale in central Da Nang city, forcing the suspension of the city's two largest water supply stations.
The entire Quang Nam province also suffered blackouts since Monday night.
The typhoon also damaged thousands of houses, schools, and uprooted trees. Many roads in Kam Ky and Hoi An cities remain flooded.
