Kuwait, Mar 14: The representatives of United Associations of Karnataka - Kuwait (UAKK), an umbrella organization of all the associations of Karnataka region, met the newly-appointed ambassador of India to the State of Kuwait M. Ganapathi on March 13 at 4:00 pm in the Embassy premises and extended to him a hearty welcome to Kuwait.
Chief coordinators of UAKK Archie Menezes and G. Shivaprakash led the delegation. Menezes, in his introductory words, welcomed the new ambassador and appreciated the services and support rendered by the Embassy staff to the Indian community in Kuwait. Dr. Vidya Prabhakar a floral bouquet to him on behalf of UAKK.
While elaborating on the activities of UAKK, a special mention was made about the efforts of UAKK to fight for common issues concerning Kannadigas in Kuwait, especially direct flights from Kuwait to Bangalore and upgradation of Mangalore Airport to International status.
Ordeals of passengers travelling from the Gulf to Mangalore and Bangalore was explained to the ambassador. A memorandum was also submitted to him in this regard. Common problems faced by Indians in general were also brought to his attention.
In turn the ambassador praised the unity of Kannadigas and formation of UAKK and promised full support to fulfil the demands. He also put forward his suggestions to move forward in the right direction and wished all the best to UAKK in its endeavours.
