Mumbai, Mar 14: Who will the next Miss India be?
The beauty pageant is heading towards its finale, and the hopefuls are grinning excitedly for the flashbulbs.
March 18, 2006 is the D-day.
After the gruelling regional rounds in the second week of January and the residential training throughout the whole of February and the first half of March in Mumbai, the final participants of this year are all ready to walk the ramp and take on the judges in the finale in Mumbai.
The beauty pageant features various costume rounds, interviews, audience poll and more. The live telecast will also heighten the drama with interesting tidbits about these beautiful women.
Bangalore girl Radhika is among the favourites.
A B Com graduate from Bishop Cotton College, Bangalore, 21-year-old Radhika has had modelling experience with Kissan press ad, Blenders Pride show (Show House), NIFT and Vogue, Prasad Bidapa, Rahul Dev Shetty and others.
Singing and Bharatnatyam are her other talents. She has won several district and state-level prizes for both singing and Bharatnatyam.
"To become Supermodel-airhostess-actress is my dream" said Radhika.
When asked about how she would describe herself, she says "Unpredictable, funny,irritating. A good actor, a horrible singer, a loyal friend!"
In the past she has won a few fashion/personality shows/pageants, among others -Miss Country club Miss Best Catwalk 2000-2001 and Miss Ayur Second runner-up 2004-2005.
