Udupi, Oct 10: "When B S Yeddyurappa was appointed the chief minister of the state, all decisions about him were taken by the party’s national leaders and by the national parliamentary board. Even now, the final decision on Yeddyurappa joining BJP will be taken by national leaders under the guidance of BJP national president Rajnath Singh," said BJP state president Prahlad Joshi.
He addressed media persons during his visit to the city on Wednesday October 9.
On reports about BSR Congress chief Sriramulu joining BJP, he said the news has only appeared in the media but so far no decision has been made by the party.
Commenting on the statement made by Supreme Court with regard to Aadhar card, he said, "BJP had stated earlier itself that UID has no standard but the central government gave importance to it. Without any concern for the people, the government is ready to argue with the Supreme Court on it, which BJP strongly condemns."
"The state BJP has already begun preparations in connection with the upcoming Lok Sabha election. The candidates will be shortlisted by next week. By December 15, a convention will be held in every Lok Sabha constituency," said Joshi.
Prior to that, the BJP will hold ‘Mane Manege BJP’ programme through which we will throw light on the achievements of NDA government, maladministration of UPA government and problems in the Congress-led state government. The list of all the above will be printed in a booklet and will be distributed to each house, he said.
Asked whether C T Ravi would be contesting from Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency, he said there are possible candidates including C T Ravi and the final decision will be taken soon.
On the occaison, newly-appointed district BJP president Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde took charge. A rally and padayatra was held prior to the programme.
