New Delhi, Oct 3 (IANS): A Metro research and testing lab was inaugurated at the Delhi Technological University (DTU) Thursday as part of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and DTU.
"This association of DMRC and DTU will go a long way in paving a new direction in joint research and development in design development, research, indigenisation of technology, development of software for power supply besides planning and design of power networks," said DMRC managing director Mangu Singh.
As part of the MoU, a part time M.Tech (power electronics) programme for eight DMRC employees has also been launched at DTU and several consultancy research projects will also be undertaken.
Calling the collaboration a partnership for excellence, DTU vice chancellor P.B. Sharma said: "Our partnership for excellence is an assurance of a bright future for energy efficient, environment friendly, reliable and secure rapid public transportation system for our nation."
