NEW DELHI, March 6: Hotmail founder Sabeer Bhatia has floated a new venture Blogeverywhere.com that enhances the speed and functionality of e-mail browsing and allows users to post their comments on any website in the world.

"In the last 10 years, there has been no significant development of technology in Hotmail. Since the last one year, we were thinking of how to increase its speed. The tool we have come up with adresses that problem," he said at a press conference.

Blogeverywhere is an Internet-based toolbar that makes the functionalities possible.

"The idea for the toolbar was conceived in US and developed by Pune-based KPIT Infosystems. Instead of setting up a team in India from scratch, we decided to partner KPIT. The company has a dedicated team of 50 people working on the toolbar for the last two years," Bhatia said.

To make hotmail faster, the the tool developed by Blogeverywhere.com downloads messages to the user's personal computer when the internet connection is idle. This ensures that to access the message the browser does not have to go to the server hosted in US, as it is available on the user's PC.

It also allows users to delete the e-mail messages from their desktop when they sign out of the hotmail.

In future, the company is planning to offer similar functonalities for other websites as well.

The Blogeverywhere toolbar also includes two buttons -write and read. The write button opens a small window within the browser where users can add their comments related to the web page visited. The read button allows other visitors to the site to read that message.

Whenever a Blogverywhere users visits a site on which other users have posted a comment, the tool bar flashes an alert.

If an owner of a website does not want any comments to be posted, he can make them go with a click of a button, Bhatia said.

He said revenues for the venture would come from advertisements but before that, their goal is to make sure that millions of Internet users start using the toolbar.

The company is also planning tie-ups with owners of Internet sites on a revenue share basis to take the toolbar available for download from their sites
