Pakistani troops again breach LoC ceasefire

Jammu, Sep 27 (IANS): A day after a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistani troops opened unprovoked firing at Indian posts near the Line of Control (LOC) in Rajouri district Friday, an army official said. Indian soldiers retaliated and exchange of firing was still going on.

Defence spokesman Capt. S.N. Acharya told IANS: "Pakistan troops fired at our positions on the LOC in Rajouri at 4.45 p.m. today (Friday) using small arms and automatics. Our troops have responded with equal calibre weapons. Firing is still going on in the area (at around 7.30 p.m.).

The ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops comes a day after three terrorists, believed to have crossed over from Pakistan, went on a rampage in Kathua and Samba districts of Jammu region, killing six policemen, four soldiers and two civilians before they were themselves gunned down.
