Damascus, Sep 27 (IANS): At least 20 people were killed Friday in a blast that rocked a suburb near the Syrian capital of Damascus, Xinhua reported citing activists in the strife-tron nation.
The blast, which was likely caused by a booby-trapped car bomb, rocked the suburb of Ranskous near Damascus, the activists said without giving further details.
The Syrian government has not commented on the bombing.
The blast happened amid growing tension between moderate and radical rebels in several Syrian cities.
The Syrian opposition in exile said in a recent statement that the radical rebels were trying to "steal the revolution".
