Kolkata, Sep 22 (IANS): The Trinamool Congress Sunday said its disciplinary committee unanimously decided to slap show cause notices on the three rebel MPs and formal letters were being sent.
Parliamentarians Kunal Ghosh, Tapas Pal and Shatabdi Roy are facing the party's ire after they shared a dais Friday with rebel legislator Shikha Mitra, and made points not palatable to the leadership.
The three MPs also expressed their admiration for Mitra who now carries the tag of a rebel after taking on the party leadership, including supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, on a number of occasions.
Ghosh, facing police grilling in the multi-crore Saradha Group chit fund scam, was particularly vocal against the party, claiming he was being made a scapegoat by those involved in the muddle.
"The way they behaved, the comments they made, everything has come to the attention of the disciplinary committee. We met Sep 20 and unanimously decided that Roy, Pal and Ghosh should be show-caused and letters are being sent to them," committee convenor Partha Chatterjee said here.
Trinamool leader and state Food Minister Jyoti Priya Mullick warned the rebels.
"Those who are walking against the party will have to tread on a path of their own," said Mullick.
