Mangalore, Sep 20: “The contribution of Mohan Alva to the field of sports, culture and art is tremendous. His work should be a role model to all other organizations and institutions. About 70 percent of the population is made up of youths. If they are trained in the right manner, it will be an asset to the nation. Institutions should contemplate providing good training to the youth,” said MLA J R Lobo.
He was speaking after inaugurating the logo and website of ‘Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat-2013’ on Thursday September 19.
Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman, Alva’s Education, Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat, briefing the press said, “’Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat-2013’ is an extravaganza organized to mark the completion of 10th Alva’s Nudisiri and 20th Alva’s Virasat programme globally. This occasion will commemorate the concept of ‘Kannada Manassu-Andu-Indu-Mundu’. This renowned Kannada literary fest will be held from December 19 to 22, 2013, in Vidyagiri. Nearly 40,000 representatives from across the world will participate in this programme. In all about 10 lac people will attend this programme. This time, there will be 10 stages for cultural activities as well as four stages for intellectual discussions emphasizing agriculture, folk arts, and students.”
“With regard to this programme one lac memberships have been already registered. There are plans to establish committees throughout 30 districts including various places like Mumbai, Chennai, and Pune. For the purpose of financial assistance, memorandums will be submitted to the chief minister through various cabinet ministers. The chief minister will be invited for the valedictory function of the programme. We also urge the chief minister to finish the various development work in Moodbidri. At least six international cultural teams will attend this event,” he added.
