Mangalore: Sudden death of woman after delivery, family files complaint

Mangalore, Sep 4: A woman who delivered a baby a couple of days ago in Lady Goschen hospital developed sudden complications and passed away on the night of Tuesday September 3.
The deceased has been identified as Vishala (27), a resident of Vamadapadavu, Siddakatte in Bantwal.
She got married to Ravi, a resident of Kinnigoli on December 24, 2012. Ravi stays in Muscat, while Vishala had been staying at her parental house for the last few months prior to the delivery.
On August 31, she got admitted to Lady Goschen hospital and delivered a male baby on Monday September 2 at around 11 am by Caesarian section. Both mother and baby were said to be fine initially.
However, the mother's health started failing and she was shifted to KMC hospital on Tuesday. She was reportedly suffering from low blood pressure, though the exact reason for the death is not yet known. Doctors have reportedly stated that apart from low blood pressure, she died due to renal failure and infection.
She was immediately shifted to ICU, and on Tuesday night, she breathed her last. The baby is said to be fine.
Vishala's family claimed that she was fine before the delivery. Her sister Girija filed a complaint with the police demanding to know the cause for her death. Dinesh, a family member told daijiworld that she had no health problems earlier.
Her husband Ravi will be returning from Muscat on Wednesday September 4.
Pandeshwar police arrived at the spot and registered a complaint.
