15 Kerala fishermen rescued off Goa coast

Panaji, Sep 2 (IANS): Fifteen fishermen from Kerala were rescued by the Indian Coast Guard some 40 nautical miles off the Goa coast, its spokesperson said Monday.

The trawler 'Sirisagara' had been stranded mid-sea after an engine failure for nearly 24 hours since Sunday and had sent a distress call.

Indian Coast Guard ship 'Samudra Prahari', which was on patrol, responded to the call and found the boat stranded with a 15-member crew, the spokesperson said.
