Anguish over book portraying lord Ganesha as 'cruel, rowdy'

Bangalore, Aug 27: A book reportedly describing lord Ganesha as 'cruel and rowdy' has caused widespread shock and anguish in the state. The book portrays the relationship of Shiva-Parvati-Ganesh in an objectionable manner.

Hindu organizations that have raised their objection and anguish on the book authored by Yogesh Master, have demanded immediate withdrawal of the book and have threatened of strong and widespread protests against the author if the book is sold. They have also demanded unconditional apology from the author.


 

Tribal Ganesha

The novel released on Saturday, August 21, 2013 in Bangalore reportedly states that Ganesha was born in a tribal family. It also states that Dundi was born to a girijan girl called Parvati due to involvement of many men. Several people have alleged that the author has changed the relationship of Shiva-Parvati and Ganesha from the original story as per his imagination.    
 
People with deep-rooted religious belief have objected to having dragged the story of Ganesha to state theoretical confrontation between Shudra and Aryas.
 
Hindu religious leaders and others have expressed their anger at the book. "The book creates a situation where anybody can insult Hindu religion. Books like Dundi get released because of the assumption that Hindus tolerate anything against their religion," they say.

    Hi all readers, please read the book before speaking against the author. i know out of 100 people who have commented here, at least 5 of them wouldn't have read the book.
    I am in mumbai, and i really liked Sai suthe, and dundi master books a lot, but books like U r anantha murthy are boring, but i like Tejasvi's books, and bv rajaram books, which gives u something to think. first of all everybody read it without any negative thoughts then you speak about the efforts yogesh master has made. I say, its a good effort from Yogesh master, i never felt anything wrong over there, if you want to understand the scenarios, then you must have at least experience of life in forest.

    He born yestarday he is too small boy infront of god ganesha. What he knows about gods.
    If in strees dog barks means what happen.
    Court will give punishment or not but god ganesh will give.

    Yogish Master has cleary said that this book is his imagination and not true

    the intention of writer itself is not clear

    its not correct to write with out knowledge on primary sources like ganesh puran veda etc

    If at all writer wanted t present this book.he should have done research and then present in manner that doesnt hurt fellings f any body

    With no social responsibility writer became villion t society

    India has no freedom of speech.Only freedom they have is to brainwash the kids into religion.Con artists are worshiped as god men.If all the religiosity India one of the poorest countries in the world should have been a richest country at least morally and cleanliness.They say cleanliness is next to Godliness. You do not see either in India, the God's or Godless country.

    I am surprised by the comments of the people who have not read the book including the reporter. In ancient time group of people is called "Gana" and adithpathi (leader) of the group is called as "Ganapathi". For every work it is a practice to worship or pay respect to Ganapathi. Hindu's symbolic Ganapathi is different from original Ganapathi. Now there no Gana. Now Gramapanchayathi, Mucipality, MLAs, MPs, etc. They are adhipathis. Therefore people try to pay respect and worship these people. Anyhow I didn't agree with who are criticizing the book without reading. I can give opinion only on reading. Otherwise I will be like those criticizing without reading.

    It is not a problem of yogesh because he belongs to such a category that, there are some people they know only how to read and write alphabets and they might have completed some degrees but they are immatured and don't have any cultural base and don't have capicity to understand fundamental of culture,history and our base.So, these people start opposing everything without knowing core knowledge and truth. Their aim is to detroy hindu culture and want to bring back asur culture. It is my kind request to the author that let him marry himself his own mother and his sisters and all of his female realtives and his own daughters and get children from them and again marry himeself to next borned female childrens and establish his self proclaimed gerat cultural base. If he is ready to marry all of them then I will attend his marriage ceremony and his children's naming ceremony.

    I fully agreed with Mr. Rajneesh, Sujir Praveen & Rosario Fernandes Comments.

    The Author does'nt have brain, who is he to insult of our religion & our believes? Whether he belongs to pakistan? Hindu organisations should'nt demand for apology & withdrawl of book instead should punish, should not excuse him hang himself in public. We are so sad to read & hear the sentences what he written also we are feeling bad about media why they are allowing such fellows to studio & giving hurting titles... Yesterday i saw special programme called 'GUNDA GANESHA' how they given this title we are not getting? 'The Great Author’ does'nt hav a brain what happened to media people????? I request with all Medias to avoid & please keep such persons too far from your premises..... Please think before giving any title it should not hurt anybody. Nobody have a right to play with others feelings & sentiments….
    I am devotee of Shri Shirdi Sainath Maharaj, I pray to punish him…..

    Reviews in all newspapers say that this is a childish novel without any intellectual contents. Jnanapitha Awardee U R Ananthmurthy himself has stated that this novel does not have any merit and written by author Yogesh Master only for cheap publicity and without brain.
    While in other religions even drawing of decent Portrait of Prophets is not tolerated, why in Hinduism such an open Blasphemy should be tolerated?

    The way he had mentioned in his book, I wonder how this person can think so casually about 'Mother-Son' relation. So, cheap and filthy mind. He needs to understand the current situation, how common man is suffering from unnecessary riots, protests regularly. So, why he has to touch such a sensitive topic!? People like this kind of mentality are contributing nothing good to the society. This would just make us to witness one more protest/riot, that's it. So, What he's trying to prove in the name of literature!?
