Laws turning anti-men: Ex-minister Lalitha Naik

Bangalore, Aug 26 (DHNS) : Former minister and well know social activist  B T Lalitha Naik said on Sunday that laws, of late, had become radically biased towards women and that society at large had demonised the role of men.

She was addressing a protest by the Karnataka Rajya Purushara Rakshana Samithi here.

“Under the present laws, men can become easy targets for women with bad intentions. A man can be arrested merely an the allegation of rape or dowry harassment by a woman,” Naik said.

“We demand that lawmakers introduce appropriate checks in the laws so that women lodging frivolous complaints are seriously dealt with,” Naik said.

    Lawmakers of our country either they lack proper eduction required or they are forming laws to have many loop holes so that wrong doers can escape easily....!!!!?????

    We live in 21st century in an advanced modern world, Our living style keeps changing. We have Smart phones n gadget, Automatic cars, Kitchen equipment's, many touch screen enabled devices to use in our day to day lives. With GPS, Phones, security cameras & comfortable transport has made travelling around the world much safer and secure. So it is oblivious that present day women has got more power and safety to their side, so present day women love to travel and work in offices which is more profitable and enjoyable than being at home.
    With all these technology at their finger tips, I still don't find these Women as Bold, Forward, Modern and hardworking as shown by Media when I compare them to those who had lived in older generation (19th, 18th … Centuries). Older generation Men used to go away for work and Women do all work in and around the house. They were not aware of what was goes around the world, so had to put up with all commands, but they were hardworking and Bold.
    Today’s women have lot of high education degrees (some even with fake) which should not be a difficult thing to get with so many institutions around. Some do just to get a good marriage proposal or to show that they are well qualified women. But I have seen many girls who are engineers, doctors, dentist once they are married, they sit at home and never work, not even do any Social and charity work or help society with knowledge they have. I feel all education provided to these girls is a total waste. Waste of resource of Govt\public, seat in college, time, money, energy. Idle mind & body leads to devils activities.
    Now in present world there are many Laws which are in favour of women, which can be misused to trap and put innocent men in trouble. We live in a Advanced world and not in a world where we live with swords and muscle power. So I feel that the law should be Gender Neutral, if not then there should be strict law against anyone who misuse or make a joke of Indian Judiciary system.

    Ex-minister is right for some extent but as a male dominated country like india the more sufferer are female.So at present situation we need a stringent law against the rapists.

    Laws should be unbiased and gender equal and if some one is fighting for equality then they should loose all the privileges bestowed upon them by the society every thing should be Equal not biased towards only one sex.
    only people who has suffered from IPC 498A misuse can relate their plight where mostly Mothers and sisters of the husband has suffered, do any one know how many men have committed suicide because of this menace how will the house hold survive when the innocent bread winner is gone are you thinking of this situation you lecherous , pervert, covetous men who comment in this column do not worry what goes around comes around you will realize it when you get trapped, they have this adage in Kannada "Bherey awwara manege banki beedhaagga beedi hathisdhanathe Baddimagga"!!

    Hello Ms. Saldhana, though there few men who are rapist and we are really ashamed of them. But, what about all the women out there who rape the brains of men in the name of modernity, lust for money and wealth. What about those women who divide between siblings, who destroy homes. There are millions out there who are more cruel and evil, scheming than the worst rapist who calls himself a man. I am sorry for the harsh word but, I am against this baised law and I really did not give right to my representative to bring this law. My daughter may benefit from this but, my son would really suffer from the draconian law and for me both my kids are like my 2 eyes. I cannot afford to lose one. May some sanity prevail on our law makers.

    They should be...
    1.Beautiful.
    2.Able to 'speak' through eyes.
    3.Able to 'understand' my poems.
    4. Able to 'murmur' sweet nothings in my ear, during long walks in 'moonlight' by the beach.
    5.Able to reciprocate in 'sign languages' perfectly.
    6.Able to 'crib' but forget the same immediately, without carrying forward any bitterness.
    7.Able to have no 'expectations'and know the meaning of 'true' happiness.
    As long as 'Harassers'have at least 5 of the above qualities, I am willing to be 'Harassed'lifelong!!
    Grow up...Lalitha Naik....Educate both men and women, instead of taking sides.We are walking a 'tightrope' as it were everyday nowadays, and this speech of yours I think we can do without.

    Very Right... I had this feeling for long time, the way politician and media projects these issues as if all men in this world are bad. We all want bad guys to be punished with the most stringent law, but demonizing all men is not going to solve this problem.
    The way IPC 498a is misused in the country this law has failed to support the needy woman in rural area but is grossly misused by educated woman in the urban area.

    Safety of girl/women are very important. Tough laws and its implementation should be in place.

    This doesnt mean law should be blind for any complaints by a girl, justice should be for everyone, people instead of stepping to the road and demanding death penalty should come forward and suggest practical ways to solve the problem....

    1 solution I suggest is make prostitution , dance bars, pubs legal , by this those despo men wont target innocent girls they will go to a place where they get what they want in a better way.
