Mangalore: Home stay attack - Remaining three accused granted bail

Mangalore, Aug 24: The last three who were in judicial custody in connection with the 2012 home stay attack case have been granted bail. The verdict comes days after the infamous home stay attack completed a year on July 28. With this, all the 38 accused have been released on bail.
The second additional district and session court granted bail to the prime accused Subhash Padil, and other accused Ganesh alias Kati Munna and Manu alias Manoj.
It may be recalled that Manoj (23), a resident of Kandavara near Gurupur, Kaikamba, who absconded soon after the attack, was arrested almost a year later on July 21.
After the attack, police had arrested 38 out of 44 accused including reporter Naveen Soorinje and cameraman Sharan. The attack on boys and girls took place at Morning Mist home stay at Padil in the outskirts of the city on July 28, 2012.
The court had granted bail to 11 accused who were released on July 17. In all, 35 out of 38 including Naveen and Sharan were released on bail previously.
The court asked the accused to produce one solvent surety before the release.
