New Delhi, Aug 23 (IANS): It was a sunny and sultry Friday in Delhi while some parts of the city received light rains and the maximum temperature settled a notch above average at 35 degrees Celsius. The Met office has forecast rains Saturday.
"The skies will be cloudy tomorrow (Saturday) and parts of the city will get rains," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 35 and 26 degrees Celsius, added the official.
The city received 0.6 mm of rainfall from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Friday. The weather remained muggy and the maximum humidity was recorded at 93 percent.
The day's minimum temperature was a notch below average at 25.3 degrees Celsius.
Thursday's maximum and minimum temperatures were both a notch below average for this time of year, at 32.9 and 24.9 degrees Celsius respectively.
Since the arrival of the monsoon, the city has recorded 749.2 mm of rainfall, 57 percent above average.
