Mumbai, Aug 22: The 55 branch of Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited which is a multi-state scheduled bank was inaugurated at Keshav Bagh building, near Sheethal cinema, LBS Marg, Kurla west here on Wednesday August 21 morning.
Maharashtra’s former home minister and MLA Kripa Shankar Singh inaugurated the new branch and also conveyed best wishes on the 35 Founder’s day celebrations.
All India Billawar federation president and the bank’s former chairman and director Jaya C Suvarna inaugurated the ATM kiosk, while the bank deputy chairperson Adv Rohini J Salian inaugurated the safe deposit locker facility.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kripa Singh said “It’s indeed a milestone in celebrating the thirty-fifth Founder’s Day of Bharat Bank. The bank is surging ahead inthe leadership of banker Jaya Suvarna.”
He said, “The veteran Congress leader and Billawa community veteran Janardhan Poojary has contributed immensely for his political growth.”
He also noted that it was due to the loyalty of the bank’s ordinary customer’s that has made the bank one of the leading banks among the co-operative banks in the nation.
He also urged the gathering to support the family members of Mangalorean wing Commander Darryl Castelino, who died in the chopper crash while saving the flood victims in the recent floods at Gaurikund in Kedarnath which is in North India.
Jaya Suvarna said, “The Bank is committed to social development along with financial services. It’s an attempt to strengthen the economic position beyond the expectation of customers, by adapting innovations in ever changing technology, and contribute towards the nation.”
