Mangalore: Raid exposes illegal gas cylinder business in Kankanady

Mangalore, Aug 21: A team of officials led by Shivappa Lambani, Mangalore tashildar along with other officials raided a house near Kudkorigudde Kankanady and seized nearly 17 gas cylinders and a regulator from the said spot.

Radha Krishna, the main suspect declared that he has been carrying out this business from the past six months but officials suspect that this business is at least two years old.

Raj Kumar, Kankanady village accountant and official Gopal along with Mangalore East police officials were present during the raid.

In a short span of time, this raid is the second of its kind. Officials have stated that the raids will continue to expose all the illegal business around the city.

A case has been registered and more information is awaited after further investigation.

    Recently, that is since a couple of months, many culprits who were enjoying free illegal trade, criminal activity and some more have been apprehended and charged.
    Police are back on track since two three months and doing what they were not doing in earlier years.
    It is heartening to note all these developments which will reduce crimes slowly and steadily,
    It is not so easy also for the lawmakers as they were and may be still influenced by those earlier politicians not to discharge their duties normally.

    This is good news. Police also should book all people who buy the gas from this thug as well. May be they will not have enough space to keep the all the 'innocent' mangaloreans.

    Looks like gas is filled in smaller (empty) cylinders.

    Whatever the case, it is hazardous and unaccounted cylinders may be used in terrorist activities.

    Police should catch the original culprit (source of supply)

    It looks asbthough gas is filled in empty cylinders. Dangerous to keep so many unaccounted gas cylinders in the house. Possibilities of accidental explosion or also chances for use in terrorist activities.

    Police should find out original source of encourging this type of racket.
