Bantwal: Woman dead, four injured as speeding truck hits auto rickshaw

Bantwal, Aug 19: A woman died and four others sustained injuries in an accident at Veerakambha here on Monday August 19.
The accident occured when a truck transporting chickens rammed into an auto rickshaw at Erme Majal in Veerakambha.
The deceased has been identified as Kusuma (56), a resident of Kelinje near here.
Vishawanath, Jayant and Harinakshi who were in the auto rickshaw, along with auto driver Yatin were injured.
It is said that the truck was plying at a high speed and the driver lost control ultimately resulting in the accident. The truck was moving from Vittal and the auto rickshaw was plying from Kalladka
Kusuma who was badly injured in the accident lost her hand, which led to severe bleeding. She was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced brought dead.
Vittal police arrested the truck driver whose negligence had reportedly caused the accident.
A case has been registered in Vittal police station.
