New Delhi, Aug 15 (IANS): Independence Day in Delhi Thursday started with a drizzle, and remained pleasant right through, with the maximum temperature settling at 30.7 degrees Celsius, three notches below average for this time of the year.
The minimum temperature was two notches below average, at 24.8 degrees Celsius.
The Met office has forecast rain and thundershowers in some parts of the city Friday.
"The skies will remain cloudy with rain and thundershowers in some parts of the city," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.
The humidity ranged between 87 and 93 percent Thursday.
Friday's maximum temperature is likely to hover around 32 degrees Celsius.
Since the monsoon's arrival in June, Delhi has received 515.6 mm of rain, 29 percent more than average.
Wednesday's maximum temperature was a notch above the season's average at 34.9 degree Celsius, and the minimum was 26.1 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the year.
