New Delhi, Aug 15 (IANS): BJP leader L.K. Advani Thursday said Independence Day was not a day to "criticise one another", after his party colleague and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi attacked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
The veteran BJP leader also wished Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Independence Day.
"Today, I want to wish the entire nation a Happy Independence Day. When I say the entire nation, I don't think some of them are my own and some are not," Advani said after unfurling the national flag at his residence.
"So I want to wish the prime minister and his entire cabinet on this occasion. I want this feeling to grow... without criticising one another, people should be aware on this day that India has unlimited possibilities," said the BJP leader.
In his Independence Day speech at Bhuj, Modi called Manmohan Singh's speech from the Red Fort "uninspiring" and criticised him on several counts.
Some other BJP leaders also attacked Manmohan Singh over his speech.
