Mangalore, Aug 14: Two youths were attacked by a group of 8 at Mogaveerpatna beach near Ullal on Tuesday August 13 evening over a trivial issue.
Nasir (25) from Kotepura and Ashfaq (22) were the victims of the attack.
The group was said to be playing at the beach while the two youths were sitting on the shore and talking. Meanwhile, the group came close to the two persons and attacked them with wooden sticks over some issue.
Police rushed to the spot but the assaulters fled. Out of them, one of the youth swam and climbed a fishing boat near Bengre, said the locals.
The two youths who were injured in the incident were admitted to a hospital in Thokottu.
In connection to the incident, on the same night, Shahan (25) and Lathesh (25) were attacked by a group with bottles when they were on their way back home. The injured were also admitted at Thokottu hospital.
As members of both the groups were admitted in the same hospital, fight erupted between two groups in the hospital premises. To prevent the clash, police resorted to mild lathi charge.
For security reasons, KSRP and other police officials were deployed at the spot.
