Mangalore: Excise DC George Pinto re-elected president of KSGEA

Mangalore, Aug 13: George Pinto, deputy commissioner of excise, Udupi and Mangalore, has been unanimously re-elected to the post of president of Dakshina Kannada district unit of Karnataka State Government Employees' Association (KSGEA).
He will lead the association for the next five years. The association represents over 60,000 government employees in the district.
George was unanimously elected during the executive committee meeting of the association held on Monday, August 12. MESCOM's Subba Rao was the election commissioner.
Speaking to daijiworld after the election, George Pinto said, "The Association has employees from drivers' association, revenue, tax department, PWD, Wenlock hospital and various other government organizations as its members. The sole intention is to protect the interest of the government employees."
Born in Meramajal in Bantwal taluk, George later shifted to Kulshekar, Mangalore and pursued his education at St Aloysius College. A post graduate in political science from Mysore University, he worked in the journalism field for a year before joining the government service.
Meanwhile, Radhakrishna of Government Industrial Training Centre was elected treasurer, and Dolphy Sequeira of Hoige Bazar Government High School elected representative for state Parishat.
