Bantwal: Police raid illegal abattoir - One arrested, three escape

Bantwal, Aug 7: The police on Wednesday August 7 raided an illegal slaughter house at Talipadpu near Kaikamba here and succeeded in arresting one person in this connection.
The arrested person is identified as Basheer. The remaining people have managed to escape during the operation.
The raid was led by Bantwal circle inspector Anil S Kulkarni and city police inspector B Shekar after obtaining reliable clues. Large amount of beef and cattle heads were found in the raid. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the slaughter house had existed for a long time.
Three more people have escaped during the raid. An auto and a pickup said to have been used by the accused were seized. Police constables Pradeep, Raju Poojari, Sampat, Dharma, Jayarama Rai, Damodar and Ramesh assisted in the raid.
Illegal transportation
On Tuesday August 6, Vittal police nabbed two people for illegally transporting cattle in a pickup vehicle. They seized the vehicle and two cows.
Sirajjuddin from Padnur gram and Thimayya Acharya were arrested in this regard.
The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon when they were transporting cattle from Puttur to Vittal. They were arrested at Okkettur.
Vittal inspector Madhav Kodlu, head constable Radha Krishna, Praveen Rai, Rakshith Rai, Murugesh, Lokesh and Bhavith Rai were part of the investigation team.
A case was registered at Vittal police station.
