Delhi sees persistent rain, showers likely Wednesday

New Delhi, Aug 6 (IANS): The national capital Tuesday saw persistent but moderate rain that lead to traffic snarls in several parts. Rain has been predicted Wednesday too.

It started raining early in the day, with the city recording a total rainfall of 11.6 mm between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m.

The maximum temperature dipped to three notches below average at 30.4 degrees Celsius, nearly four degrees lower than that of Monday.

The minimum temperature settled at 26 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season.

Sluggish traffic was reported due to water on roads in south Delhi. Greater Kailash in south Delhi and north Delhi's Civil Lines had water-logged roads.

Humidity wavered between a high and low of 95 and 80 percent respectively.

"Wednesday will be cloudy and rain is expected," said an official of India Meteorological Department.

Wednesday's maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 32 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
