Bantwal, Aug 6: Special baths were held at Narahari Sri Sadashiva Temple and Karinja’s Mahatobara Sri Karinjeshwara temple, two famous temples in the taluk, on Tuesday August 6 in view of Aati Amavasya.
The devotees prayed at the temples from 4 am, and sought divine blessings and took the holy baths.
A large number of people qued up to seek blessings of Shiva and Parvati who are deities of the temple. It is customary for newly-married couples to offer prayers here on the day of Aati Amavasya and couples in large numbers came on this Tuesday also.
The administration of the temple had made special arrangement for the devotees. Special KSRTC buses were arranged for their conveyance.
Many devotees thronged Narahari Sadashiva Centre and had lake water baths at Shankha, Chakra, Gada and Padma by offering betel. Patients of asthma offered rope to the centre with an age old belief that they will be cured of their illness by doing so.
Former MLA, BJP district president K Padmanabha Kothari and Temple’s administrative trustee Dr Prashanth Marla were present.
