Kundapur: Two killed as lorry hits bike at Uppunda

Kundapur, Aug 3: Two persons were killed in a head-on collision between a bike and a lorry at Uppunda, Byndoor here on Saturday August 3.
The deceased have been identified as Ramesh Kharvi (28), a resident of Ambagilu Janata Colony, Uppunda, and Annayya Kharvi (29), a resident of Bilinamane, Madikal.
The two friends were on their way home from Byndoor when the accident took place. Ramesh was riding while Annayya was sitting pillion.
When they were passing over Uppunda bridge, a lorry with Rajasthan registration number, plying from Mangalore towards Byndoor, rammed into their bike.
Both Ramesh and Annayya were critically injured, and were rushed to Kundapur in 108 ambulance. However, Ramesh breathed his last on the way, while Annayya died even as arrangements were being made to take him to Manipal after he failed to reponse to initial treatment.
