Mumbai: Bharat Bank bags top award from Banks' Association

Mumbai, Aug 3: The Brihan Mumbai Nagari Sahakari Banks' Association conferred the Top Bank Award on Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited, during a function held at Hotel Kohinoor Banquet hall, Prabhadevi, Dadar (West), here on Friday August 2.
Bharat Co-operative Bank is promoted by Mumbai-based Billawar Association.
Brihan Mumbai Nagari Sahakari Banks' Association president Subash Rao Deshmukh and other office-bearers presented the award to Bharat Bank’s former chairman and visionary for rapid development Jaya C Suvarna, deputy chairperson and advocate Rohini J Salian and managing director and chief executive officer C R Mulky.
Subash Rao Deshmukh presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Jaya C Suvarna said that Bharat Bank has a total of 53 branches, and it has achieved a turnover of approximately Rs 9,000 crore.
“The new branch at Dharavi, Sion will open its doors to the public here on Friday August 16 and Kurla (W) branch on Wednesday August 21,” said Suvarna.
Association deputy chairperson Saroja B Naik, conveners Purushottam M Mane, Naresh K Povkar, Dattaram A Valke and Kashinat D More, chief executive officer Yeknat V Kale and others were present on the dais.
Bharat Bank directors M B Kukyan, Pushpalata N Salian, L V Amin, Raja V Salian, Jyoti K Suvarna, M B Sanil, Y Nagesh, Mohan G Poojary, Chandrashekar S Poojary, N Nityanand and Bhaskar M Salian, chief general manager Anil Kumar R Amin, deputy chief general managers Shobha Dayanand and Vivek Shanbagh, assistant chief general managers Vidhyanand Karkera and Dinesh B Salian, bank officers association president Kiran B Amin and bank employees union president Ramesh T Poojary and others were present on the occasion.
The Top Bank Award aims at recognising a scheduled co-operative bank that achieves a deposit of over Rs 1,500 crore during 2011 - 12. Bharat Bank has bagged this award for its consistency in achieving the set objectives, customer satisfaction and clientele base.
