Mangalore, Jan 30: In a ghastly accident near KPT here on Saturday January 28 night, two persons were knocked down to death and one was injured seriously by a lorry.

The deceased have been identified as Amar (18) and Manoj Kumar Shetty (28), residents of Kapikad near Bejai here.  While Amar died on the spot on Saturday night, Manoj Kumar died in the hospital on Sunday.  One Suresh (28) too has been injured seriously in the accident.

On Saturday night Manoj Kumar and Suresh were going towards Yeyyadi on the former's bike.  When they reached near Landmark Apartment near KPT they saw their friend Amar walking beside the road.  So Manoj stopped the bike beside the road and the three of them were talking to each other, when a lorry dashing from KPT knocked them down in a bid to overtake a vehicle.

As a result Amar was killed on the spot.  Manoj Kumar and Suresh were injured critically and were admitted to a private hospital in the city.  However, Manoj Kumar succumbed to injuries on Sunday in the hospital.  Suresh is still fighting for life.

While Amar was a painter by profession, Manoj was working in a wine shop.
