Yangon, Aug 2 (IANS): Myanmar is all set to conduct a nationwide population census next year.
The census-taking process will last from March 30 to April 10 in 2014, reported Xinhua.
Out of the total expected cost of $58.5 million for the process, Myanmar's government has committed $15 million, while the UN pledged $5 million for materials and courses.
Donations of $2.8 million by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and $16 million by the British government for the census have been received. Efforts are also being made for receiving donations from Norway and Switzerland.
Myanmar last held census in 1983.
