Kasargod: Two train accidents, bus mishap claim three lives

Kasargod, Aug 1: A young boy died when the engine of a train rammed into him on Wednesday July 31.
The boy has been identified as Johar (8), son of Jaleel Tailangady.
He was a student of Palakunnu Greenwood School, studying in class 3.
As holiday had been declared for the school, Johar had gone to his grandmother's house.
He was hit by the train engine while crossing the railway track near his grandmother's house. He died on the spot.
In another incident, an employee of the same school was killed after a train hit her while crossing the railway track near Uduma Pallam here.
The deceased has been identified as Chitra (44), an employee of Palakunnu Greenwood School.
The incident took place when Chitra was returning to her house in Bare, from her relative’s home in Uduma Pallam.
While she was crossing the railway track, a train moving towards Mangalore rammed into her. It is also said that when crossing the track Chitra did not notice the approaching train.
The locals immediately informed the police.
Police visited the spot and sent the mortal remains to Kasargod general hospital. After the post-mortem the body were handed over to the family. Chitra had joined the school as employee just a month ago, it is learnt.
In another accident, a young boy slipped from bus and sustained severe injuries. He later breathed his last in a hospital in Mangalore.
The deceased is A Mohammed Irshad (13), son of Ibrahim and Hajira, Bendichal, who was studying in 8th standard at Chettanjal Higher Secondary School. The incident took place when Irshad was returning home from school on July 22.
He was travelling by a government bus plying from Chettanjal via Delli, when all of a sudden, he lost balance and got thrown out of the bus when it reached Padoor. A critically injured Irshad was admitted in a private hospital in Mangalore, where he passed away a week later.
