Mangalore, Jan 28: Prof K Savitri, lecturer of history at Besant Women's College here has been awared PhD by the Mysore University.
Prof K Savitri has been awarded PhD for her research work "A Historical Study of Stri Bhootaradhane" conducted under Dr Sangeeta Suvarna, reader of History Department of Mysore University.
Ahmad Hasan, registrar, Examination Department of Mysore University, announced this recently.
The research work of Prof K Savitri has been appreciated largely, for this is for the first time that some one has conducted such an extensive research "bhoota worship" based on only the historical facts of Tulunadu. Here Prof Savitri has not taken the religious factors and faith aspects affiliated to “bhoota worship” into account for her study, which makes it unique and one of its kind.
