Mangalore, Jan 27: The Kerala State Second Kannada Sammelana – 2006 (Kannada Conference) will be held on Sunday January 29 at the Lalithakala Sadana Kasargod.
According to a press release from Shivaram Kasargod, working president, Sammelana reception committee, that there will be many programmes during the inauguration like release of souvenir, national seminar and discussion on the language and culture of the people in the border region. Book exhibition cum sale, yakshagana, coin exhibition, photographs, handicrafts, multi-lingual poets’ conference, will be part of the event.
At the valedictory programme, Kerala state Kannada speaking population with their roots in Karnataka, will be felicitated for their distinct achievements in various fields.
The aim of the sammelana is to safeguard the interest of Kannadigas settled in Kerala state and Kasargod district.
