Karkala, Jan 27: Former police inspector Girish Mattennavar, who had hit the headlines by placing fake bombs in Vidhana Soudha two years ago, has urged all Kannadigas to rally in support of inspector Daya Nayak of Mumbai in the difficult phase he has been passing through at present.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Mattennavar said that Nayak stood for moral values and predicted that the latter would come clean out of the current turmoil very soon.
Mattennavar regretted the media which had glorified and supported Nayak whenever he had eliminated the gangsters was writing against him now. But very soon the media would realize his clean motives and social concern, he said.
Further he said that such moves were only part of a gameplan by vested interests, aimed at defeating the morale of upright persons and being jealous of Nayak's rise to fame.
Sanoor panchayat president Sanoor Narasimha Kamath and others were present on the occasion.
