Eight killed in Turkey over land dispute


Ankara, July 28 (IANS): At least eight people were killed and four wounded Saturday in Turkey's Diyarbakir province during an armed clash erupted over a land dispute between two families, Xinhua reported.

It all happened as a gunfight broke out between the Ustun family from Baskoy village and the Ek family from Karatepe village in Bismil town.

"Two wounded people were taken to a hospital in Batman province and another two wounded were taken to Diyarbakir Training and Research Hospital for medical treatment," said Governor of Diyarbakir Mustafa Cahit Kirac:
